Die einzigen Wiking filius in Norwegen?

Have totally renovated a Wiking filius
It has become a jewelery
But I do not get the boat to go faster than 15kmh
The engine is in good condition and nothing wrong with it
propeller is original.
I have probably to put some weight on the boat, but did not think it was so much.
Do I need to buy a new motor???

have you som photos from the engineroom ?
If it is an 3-cylinder 2-stroke-engine fro an Wartburg, he has 45 or 50hp.
I think, the boot goes up to 40 km/h with them.

I do not know what to do
it can not be anything wrong with the propeller?
Do not want to buy a new engine
1 costs too much here in Norway
2 will have the original and like the sound.

Hello Olstad,
Your motor is a 50 Hp model and it should easily bring 40 to 43 Km/hour. The first thing you will have to check if it runs on all 3 cilinders. If so, the motor should run 4000 RPM at full speed. I think you have the wrong propeller on it. It looks like a propeller that i use on my 70 Hp Melkus/Wartburg motor. Try a propeller with "rounded" blades instead on the squere ones. Also the propeller "Pitch" is very important. You can probably find the propellers rather cheep on E bay. de.

If you need a new: I currently sell a motor.
It was removed after a short usage and converted to two circuit cooling.
Then he was professionally conserved and stored.

On the Wartburg with the LEWO-gear you must be use a lefthand
rotation prop.

Your filius runs better, the Lotos weighs ~ 600kg , and is 5,5m x 2,07m



- filius 4,7mx1,6m ? 400kg ?
The ..arbor? in your steve tube is an 22mm arbor, korrectly ?

I don't know, whether a propeller from a Lotos can good work with your boat.....

Buy a propeller.......hm.....ebay germany, and search "Propeller & Wartburg or
DDR" ( german democratic republic ), use in this forum or in the oldiebooteforum the market.

Hallo Stefan, Da habe ich denn ein frage. Falls der drehrichtung falsch ist war er im vorwartsgang rückwarts gefahren? Das bedeutet das er 15 Km/ST im rückwarts einschaltung vorwarts gefahren ist. Ich hätte das gleiche mit Micha`s Boesch wenn das noch meiner war. Der originalmotor war erzetst durch ein motor mit andere drehrichtung. Das hat viel spass gemacht beim erster probelauf.Beim vorwarts einschalten bin ich rückwarts im bootshaus gefahren.

ich habe die gleiche Kombi Wartburg/Lewo im
Kajütboot. Und Wartburg sind Linksläufer,
beim Lewo wird in Vorausfahrt nur das Kupplungs-
paket geschlossen, keine Drehrichtungsänderung oder Untersetzung
wie beim Lunze-Getriebe.
Das Lewo ist im Rückwärtsgang leicht, 1,2:1,untersetzt.
Max. Drehzahl für Vorwärts ist 4500U/min, für Rückwärts
nur 1000U/min!!!!
Hoffentlich hat er dem Teil nicht schon das Genick umgedreht!

I have the same combination of Wartburg and Lewo in my cabin cruiser.
The Wartburgs are of left-hand rotation. In forward speed the Lewo
simply engages the clutch without any gear reduction. The Lunze
gearbox is different in having a gear reduction and a change in rotation.
In reverse speed the Lewo features a small gear reduction of 1.2:1. The
maximum speed in forward speed is 4500 1/min, in reverse 1000 1/min.
I hope he has not damaged the part yet.

I have not run much with the boat
I had some other problems earlier. Therefore, completely new electrical system.
a small short circuit destroyed "3 Geber"
Changed everything before I figured it out
So just test driven a few trips.
tested the rpm, and everyhing is good
I have an extra transmission so I can switch if I need to
