Mit dem Erwerb von Checkmate Powerboats erweitert Global Marine Power, die Muttergesellschaft von Hustler Powerboats, die Modellpalette um 17 Checkmate Modelle von 18' bis 30'.

Beide Modelllinien werden an den bisherigen Standorten getrennt weiter produziert.

GLOBAL MARINE POWER ACQUIRES ASSETS OF CHECKMATE MARINE

CALVERTON, NY- Global Marine Power, the parent company of Hustler Powerboats, is pleased to announce today the purchase of Checkmate Marine assets.
Hustler Powerboats, a manufacturer of high performance offshore boats since 1979, will now be able to offer 17 models to customers looking for boats under 30 feet by Checkmate.
“With a strong presence in the center console and small performance outboard boat market, Checkmate makes a great addition to the Hustler family,” said Paul LoGiudice, Sales Manager of Hustler Powerboats. “With 84 years of history between the two companies and 32 different models of boats ranging from 18’ to 50’, it will appeal to the new customers who are looking to find an affordable boat while working up to a larger boat without the need of changing companies down the road.”
“Hustler and Checkmate share many of the same attributes, custom, hand laid, exceptional performance and high quality boats,” said Doug Smith, company spokesperson for Checkmate Marine. “I am excited to see what Hustler will be able to help Checkmate accomplish.”
Checkmate will continue to produce and operate in Bucyrus, Ohio and complement Hustler’s current distributing channels.

Grandios formuliert, da wird bestimmt jeder eine checkmate haben wollen damit er unten ist. )

Ich habe nie gesagt, daß Checkmate unten ist. Ich habe gesagt, daß wir damit das Angebot nach unten abrunden. Es ist nunmal so, daß Checkmate nicht da steht wo Hustler ist. Und auch nie dort sein wird wo Hustler ist.

Allerdings gibt es noch viel Platz nach unten.

Eine Parallele aus dem Automobil Sektor: Skoda und Seat sind auch nicht da wo VW steht.

Übrigens finde ich es Klasse wie so eine Nachricht aufgenommen wird. Da wird eine gute, preiswerte Bootsmarke, die auch in Europa viele Freunde hat, vor dem Aus gerettet und alles was dazu angemerkt wird, daß die Formulierung der Pressemeldung schlecht ist.
